I recently saw this survey over on Lazy Book Lovers and thought it looked like an interesting survey to do. So I'd thought I'd do it myself.
John Green. He's an author that I'd automatically read anything he releases. I've read his all his books and re-read multiple times. I just love his writing!
Mockingjay. I loved The Hunger Games series as a whole and thought this was the perfect ending to the series. The ending hit me right in the feels.
One Day by David Nicholls. Bought it in a charity shop a few months back and was told by a friend I had to read it so I've picked it up and I'm about 100 pages in and so far really liking it.
Hot chocolate or hot ribena (don't judge). I can't think of anything cosier than curling up with a book and one of my favourite hot drinks.
E-Reader or Physical Book:
Physical. I do have several books on my iPad but there's just something about holding a book in your hands and the satisfaction of turning each page and being able to physically see the progression. I also feel that I get into physical copies more, with my iPad I usually just use it if I can't sleep and don't care if I fall asleep reading as I won't lose the page, this does mean that I don't get as engrossed in a book.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Dated in High School:
Levi (Fangirl) for sure. I don't think I've had more of a soft spot for a character as I did with him. I wanted to be in the book and be with him!
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales, I bought this book on a whim when it came up as a suggestion when buying a couple of other books on bookdepository. Honestly, I was drawn in my the cover and without even knowing what it was about I bought it and read it. It ended up being such a good book.
Hidden Gem Book:
Again, This Song Will Save Your Life. I don't think I've seen any youtubers or bloggers talk about this book at all and that makes me sad. I loved it so much everything a friend asks me about a book to read I'm just all "omg. You need to read this".
Important Moment in Your Reading Life:
April, 2014. This was when I really got into reading, and not just the odd book here and there like I'd previously done, I discovered the wonders of booktube and I was hooked. A sad day for my bank account but a happy moment in my life, I am now really enjoying reading.
The Year I Met You by Cecelia Ahern, which I recently reviewed.
Kinds of Books You Won't Read:
I'm not all that into magical/fantasy books like Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter, if a book is compared to one of these I'll probably not ever read it.
Longest Book You've Read:
Allegiant by Veronica Roth. 526 pages of heartache and misery. The Divergent series was one of my favourite series but I don't think I've ever read a book in which I disliked the ending so much. The book on the whole was good though.
Major Book Hangover Because of:
Again Allegiant, I don't think I'll ever get over how that book ended.
Number of Book Cases You Own:
Just the one. I do need to invest in another though.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Fault In Our Stars. I've read that book about 4 times, I just love it so much!
In bed. I love getting cosy under the covers and reading before I go to sleep or even go off to my room for some quite with a book.
Quote That Inspires You/Gives You All The Feels From A Book You've Read:
"I fell in love how you fall asleep...Slowly, then all at once" - John Green (The Fault In Our Stars) the quote just fits me deep in the feels.
Reading Regret:
Not getting into reading sooner. I used to hate reading when I was in school.
Series You Started and Need to Finish (all books of the series are out):
The Legend Series by Marie Lu, I even have all 3 so I have to reason to not have finished this series but I just started reading and just stopped.
- The Fault In Our Stars - John Green
- Everything Leads To You - Nina La Cour
- The Hunger Games -
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Can I pick 2 for this? The Hunger Games and Divergent. The books. The films. I'm a fangirl.
Very Excited For This Release More Than Others:
Proof of Forever by Lexa Hillyer. The premise of the book sounds so good and I can't wait to read it. I feel that it's like the contemporary book version of Hot Tub Time Machine and this excites me!
Stopping reading a book half way through, this is a habit I've had since I was young. I'd read so many books in a series then just stop reading and not actually finish that series.
X Marks the Spot- Start at the Top Left of your Shelf and Pick the 27th Book:
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.
Your Latest Book Purchase:
Christmas with Billy and Me. All 54 pages of it.
ZZZ-snatcher- Last Book that Kept You Up WAY Too Late:
Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins, I was enjoying the book so much I just locked track of time reading it. I was staying at my Grandma's at the time and I remember her saying to me the next day that I had stayed up way too late reading.
So here's my A-Z Book Survey. Now it's your turn!
